The video clip to Alesha Dixon's forthcoming single 'Drummer Boy' is an all-out assault on the senses. It's a feast for the eyes, exploding onto the screen in splashes of glorious colour, and it's a feast for the ears - with it's clamour of percussion giving way to a pulsing deep electro beat with the slightest whiff of a chorus thrown in to keep things interesting. What's great about this clip is that while it's filmed entirely in a studio, there's enough going on with subtle use of props, over-use of colour, wild outfits and hair, tight choreography, shiny floor and spectacular drums that the quivvering camera use throughout ties it all together brilliantly and makes it all just work. It's breathtaking proof that a studio clip doesn't have to be boring - and boy, did the producers ever get this one right. The track's a grower, the clip's a corker.
