JOE DROPS AUGUST

Contrary to popular reports that the new Eskimo Joe album would drop in July, Warner Music has this afternoon dropped their most recent release schedule showing that the new EJ album will instead hit retail in August.
It's called 'Ghosts Of The Past' and is the follow up to their No.1 smash 'Inshallah' which was released in May 2009.
Recorded partly in Sydney and partly in Western Australia, excitement surrounding the new LP has grown in recent days, with the digital release of the first single 'When We Were Kids' a couple of Fridays ago.
Fans of the band will now be counting down to the official album release date of Friday August 19.

CHRISTINA'S HEARTS IN A JAR

Hot on the heels of the release of her new single 'Jar Of Hearts', the team at Warner Music has unveiled a very special interactive "jar of hearts" upon Australian audiences.
The interactive jar (at www.jarofhearts.com.au) allows users to pour out their hurts, heartache and general emotion. Friends or someone anonymous can then comment on your heart-felt message, giving advice as to how to set your heart free.
'Jar Of Hearts' the single is well within the iTunes top 100 here in Australia and is expected to soar from late tomorrow, after the tune is featured in tomorrow night's episode of Channel 10's hit show 'Glee'.
So go... choose a heart and set it free. www.jarofhearts.com.au

Tickets for all shows are on sale on Thursday June 09.

HAVANA GETS PHYSICAL

Seems like Aussie DJ Havana Brown has a big hit on her hands with her debut solo single 'We Run The Night'. The track has already spent seven weeks in the ARIA singles chart, reaching a new peak of No.7 this week. It's also been certified gold for sales of more than 35,000 copies and maintains its position in the iTunes top ten.
But now Universal Music has revealed that they'll be releasing a physical CD single/EP version of the track to capitalise on its burgeoning success - and it's bursting at the seams with remixes (see below for full tracklist).
The single will be released on Friday June 10.

01. We Run The Night (Original Edit)
02. We Run The Night (Angger Dimas Remix)
03. We Run The Night (Redial Remix)

KYLIE BRISBANE WINNER

It's quite possibly the most exciting competition we've ever run on the site - the chance to win one of three double passes to go and see Kylie Minogue performing live during her forthcoming 'Aphrodite : Les Folies' tour of the country.
We had a double pass to see the pop princess in Brisbane. We still have a double pass to go for Sydney and a double to Melbourne (the link's over there in the right hand sidebar).
The people of Brisbane responded too - with plenty of entries to go in the draw to win a gold double pass to see Kylie at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre this Saturday.
We also asked each entrant to name their favourite Kylie single. The top three from Brisbane entrants were;

1. Confide In Me (8 votes)
2. Can't Get You Out Of My Head (4 votes)
3. Breathe/Get Outta My Way/Love At First Sight (3 votes each)

So for the important draw. The winner of our double pass to see Kylie at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre this Saturday night is...

Alice from Camp Hill in Queensland!

Congratulations Alice! Your double pass will be jetting its way to your place early tomorrow!
Thanks to everyone who entered the draw for these super sought-after tickets!
More giveaways are on the way, so stay tuned!!

DARREN HAYES ALL TALK

We knew it was coming, but the countdown is entering its final few weeks 'til the world gets to hear brand spanking new music by Aussie singer Darren Hayes.
It was officially announced midway through April that the former Savage Garden frontman had signed a deal which would see his new album released through Mercury Records (Universal Music in Australia).
Glancing through the latest Universal Music release schedule this afternoon, we've noticed that Darren's brand new single is currently set for a digital release in Australia on Friday June 24.
Its name? 'Talk Talk Talk'.

COLDPLAYING WITH THEIR FANS

The boys from Coldplay have started teasing their fans over the past few days, with short and colourful videos featuring this hypercoloured walking figure (pictured), as well as some of the lyrics to what is presumed will be the band's new single.
One posted Friday reads, "And all the kids they dance, all the kids all night, until Monday morning feels another life."
Saturday's reads, "I turn the music up, I'm on a roll this time, and heaven is in sight."
Another one yesterday reads, "I turn the music up, I got my records on, from underneath the rubble, sing a rebel song. Don't want to see another generation drop, I'd rather be a comma than a full stop."
All very interesting, we're sure you'll agree.
More lyrical treats are being unveiled each day over at the band's OFFICIAL WEBSITE.
Coldplay's fifth album is due for release later this year.

TOURING : Liam Finn

Unless you've been hiding under a rock for the last few months, you'll no doubt be aware by now that New Zealand singer songwriter (and member of the royal family of cross-Tasman musos) Liam Finn will release a brand new album entitled 'FOMO' in the middle of next month.
He's got a slot at the upcoming Splendour In The Grass festival in Woodford at the end of July, but some of the other centres around the country will have the chance to see him rip up a stage or two when he hits the road in August for half a dozen live dates.
Fans will be able to experience Liam's new album in a live arena, including his most recent single 'Cold Feet', the video for which (filmed in Manchester, UK) is set to premiere next week.
'FOMO' is out on June 17, tickets for all the dates below are on sale now.

August 20 : Adelaide (Jive Bar)
August 24 : Newcastle (Cambridge Hotel)
August 25 : Canberra (ANU Bar)
August 26 : Sydney (Oxford Art Factory)
August 27 : Brisbane (The Zoo)

HUSH HUSH FOR ALEXIS' NEW SINGLE

It was always one of our favourite songs from Alexis Jordan's debut album and this morning it's officially been serviced to Aussie radio as the third single. It's 'Hush Hush', of course, another Stargate produced gem that's bound to get radio in a tizz.
The tune is already getting plenty of love over in the UK, with a No.1 position on the UK club charts.
We featured the clip for the tune a couple of weeks back here on the site (see it HERE).

PUT YOUR HANDS UP FOR KYLIE

She's about to drop it in the UK and now Warner Music is following suit on the local horizon (albeit with a different cover image). Kylie Minogue's single 'Put Your Hands Up', co-written by Melbourne twins NERVO, has been officially serviced to Australian radio this morning - in it's Pete Hammond remix form!
Could Aussie radio head back into the 1980s and play this remix? Warner has also serviced the extended Pete Hammond version, along with the Muscles remix of the tune.
The versions are contained on the brand new exclusive Australian 'Les Folies' tour edition of Kylie's album 'Aphrodite' which drops to retail this Friday.

NEW BOWDITCH

We love ourselves a bit of Clare Bowditch, but what we like even more is a NEW bit of Clare Bowditch. But that's exactly what we got late yesterday when Universal Music officially sampled the singer's new single to radio.
It's called 'Now You're Home' and features the guest vocals of Lanie Lane, who'll be joining Clare on her upcoming 'Winter Secrets' tour, kicking off in Launceston on Friday June 24.
It's the first track to be lifted from Clare's forthcoming EP called 'Are You Ready Yet?' which is set to hit in early July.
Of the 'Are You Ready Yet?' project, Clare says, "Sometimes, songwriting needs to be scary in order to be good. With this in mind, I decided in February that I would turn my hand to co-writing with some of my favourite Australian artists. I wanted the songs to sound glorious to the ear, and leave people feeling uplifted, rather than analytical. The 'Are You Ready Yet' EP is a taste of where this experiment took me: into the homes of people like Gotye and Lanie Lane, and then straight into the studio to lay down the things we had written together."
The 'Are You Ready Yet?' EP is set for release on Friday July 01.

WHAT HAPPENED TO JAY?

It looks as though Jessica Mauboy's latest single 'What Happened To Us' is having more life breathed into it. But Jay Sean is out and a local star of the Sony stable is in. Yes, it would appear that Jess has dumped Jay Sean from the 'What Happened To Us' campaign from here on in, with labelmate Stan Walker stepping in on guest vocal duties for recent performances of the track, including on last night's Dancing With The Stars.
The track was immediately serviced to media following last night's performance and is also now available on iTunes.
Now about those 'What Happened To Us' signed physical singles... 12 weeks and counting...

DIONNE BROMFIELD : Foolin'

The thing that we find completely astonishing about UK soul singer Dionne Bromfield, who's signed to Amy Winehouse's record label Lioness, is that she's still just 15 years old.
Her voice, remarkably similar to Amy's in style, is mature beyond her tender years.
She first rose to prominence two years ago through her star performance on Britain's version of Dancing With The Stars, achieving top 40 success with her cover version of the Shirelles' 'Mama Said'.
Now Dionne is on the verge of releasing her new single 'Foolin' over in Britain - a peppy track that's infused with that unmistakable '60s soul sound that's bound to win over new fans, while further seducing those who are already along for the ride.
And while Australia's so far not on the release horizon, we watch with great interest from afar and hope Universal here doesn't wait too long before dropping the new material onto our local digital stores.
Dionne's future is blindingly bright.

MINAJ DROPS SUPER BASS

Universal Music has this afternoon serviced the latest single by rising US R&B singer Nicki Minaj to Aussie media. And judging by the already almighty online response to the new track and its corresponding video, 'Super Bass' looks like being rather a big hit.
The video on YouTube has already notched up more than 24 million hits since the start of the month, and the story for the song in the United States continues to grow, with the track hitting No.10 on the US iTunes store this week.
'Super Bass' is set to be released on the deluxe edition of Nicki's album 'Pink Friday', which will be released into stores around Australia from this Friday.

LOOKBACK

CHRISTINE ANU : My Island Home

Christine's version of 'My Island Home' became an anthem of national pride when she performed it at the closing ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. A cover of the 1987 Warumpi Band track, it was originally written about their lead singer's island home off the Northern Territory coast. But after Christine's award-winning 1995 version (with slightly re-worked lyrics), it became a symbol of our collective love for Australia - our big 'island home'.
A brilliant Aussie tune in both guises, a celebration of not only George Burarrwanga's home, but ours too.

GAGA TO HIT SYDNEY

Lady Gaga will hit Australia in July.
Announced officially this morning, Gaga will take the stage at the Sydney Town Hall, transforming it for one night only into the "Sydney Monster Hall", for an exclusive one-off show for the Today radio network.
She'll be performing her hits, naturally, but will also perform tracks from her just-released new album 'Born This Way', which is set to debut atop the ARIA albums chart tonight.
And the great thing for fans? Tickets are free. But of course, they'll be strictly limited.
From June 08, fans will be able to enter the competition to win tickets via Facebook. Organisers want you to upload a photo of yourself at your most 'monstrous'.
For those not lucky enough to win tickets to the exclusive event, Go! Channel will broadcast it, followed by a re-screening on Channel [V]. Fans will also be able to catch it on Take40.com and on Vodafone mobiles around the country.
Meanwhile, Gaga will be on the phone chatting exclusively to Kyle & Jackie O tomorrow morning at 8am on 2Day FM and each Today station (including Fox FM, B105, SAFM, 92.9fm, NXFM) will broadcast an hour of Gaga power from 6pm.
Gaga hits the stage at the Sydney Town Hall on Wednesday July 13.

SATURDAY NEWS WRAP #53

• What's this? Aussie celebrity chef Pete Evans with US soul superstar Cee Lo Green? You betcha. Pete was in the bright lights bigger city (see what we did there?) of New York recently, attending the US launch of Range Rover's stunning new model the Evoque. It was part of a worldwide campaign, with simultaneous launches across the globe; Paolo Nutini playing in Milan and Mark Ronson playing in Shanghai.
• She's been one of our favourite vocalists since she fronted Deepface's awesome hit 'Been Good' back in 2005. Now Shirley Davis will take to the stage solo as part of a new 'Women Of Soul' festival each Tuesday night throughout June at Melbourne's Toff In Town. Shirley hits the stage on June 07.
• Speaking of Shirley, she recently lent her vocals to an incredibly soulful cover version of a Richard Groove Holmes track called 'No Trouble On The Mountain'. You can check out the video to it HERE.
• Canadian four piece Azari & III have announced the local release for their debut self-titled long player. They're perfoming live as part of Sydney's Vivid Live Festival, with their first show kicking off last night at the Opera House. They're at the Prince Bandroom in Melbourne tonight before heading to Brisbane, Canberra and back to Sydney next weekend. Their LP drops on July 29, with the single 'Into The Night' at local media on Monday.
• Diddy's teen boy band Mindless Behaviour have launched another single onto an unsuspecting American public called 'Mrs.Right' (pictured). Though nothing's been confirmed for Australia just yet, their album is entitled '#1 Girl' and it's due to drop Stateside later this year.
• Ellen Degeneres protege Greyson Chance will release his debut album in the US in August. Entitled 'Hold On 'Til The Night', the LP will drop on August 02 in America but like Mindless Behaviour's LP, there's no word just yet on when it will see the light of day down under.
• If you like your tunes a little on the country side of the scale, Wagons last night kicked off their national tour in Launceston. They'll play the Republic Bar in Hobart tonight before heading through all states bar the Northern Territory. Tour dates are HERE.
• Dan Sultan and Alexander Gow from Oh Mercy must be doing something right. Not only have they already sold out a second show at Perth's Ellington Jazz Club, but they've also sold out their first show at Adelaide's Governor Hindmarsh. Thankfully they added a second show in the South Australian capital, with tickets on sale now.
• According to the latest Sony Music release schedule, new songs are on the way soon for Aussie singers Michael Paynter and Pete Murray. Pete's track is called 'Always A Winner', while the new Michael Paynter track is called 'How Sweet It Is'. Both are on the schedule for a digital release on June 24.
• We might not be kids anymore, but the young folk who'll be heading along to see Yo Gabba Gabba! during it's current Aussie run (kicking off in Sydney next Saturday) are in for a treat, with top Aussie bands on the bills in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Sydney concert goers will be treated to some smooth sounds from Art vs Science, peeps in Brisbane will rock out with Operator Please and the folks in Melbourne will get a taste of Little Red.
• Modest Mouse has added a second show in Melbourne after their first sold out in minutes yesterday morning. They'll now kick off their Aussie commitments at Melbourne's Prince Bandroom on Thursday July 21.
• Over in the US, Adele remains atop the Billboard singles chart for the fourth consecutive week with her tune 'Rolling In The Deep'. Pitbull's edged one place higher - up to No.3 with 'Give Me Everything', while LMFAO and Lupe Fiasco pop into the top ten at Nos.8 and 9 respectively. Lady Gaga's 'Hair' debuts at No.12.
• But Adele better not be getting too comfortable on top of the albums chart (she's still there this week), because Lady Gaga is coming to steal her thunder next week, with some predictions that Gaga will bag more than 800,000 sales of her LP 'Born This Way' within its first week on sale. Seether debuts at No.2 this week with 'Holding Onto Strings Better Left To Fray', while Italian 'popera' trio Il Volo (how long before we see them trying to crack the Aussie market, Universal?) debut at No.10 with their self-titled set.

TAKE THAT : Love Love

The video clip for 'Kidz' - Take That's previous single - was quite an involved affair, smothered with CGI, spaceships and an apparent Take That invasion of the earth. This time around, however, it seems the band has become a little more budget conscious, choosing to film the clip to their new single 'Love Love' in a studio with some simple lighting effects, mirrored vests and an army of dancers.
Perhaps they've been saving up all their cash for the 'Progress : Live' tour, the first concert of which wrapped up in the city of Sunderland in the north east of the UK just a couple of hours ago.
The single is available digitally now.

JASON DERULO : Don't Wanna Go Home

If his new single's explosion into the top ten on the local iTunes chart is anything to go by, we suspect that Mister Jason Derulo's new single 'Don't Wanna Go Home' is finding big favour with local audiences.
And one thing's for sure - the video clip for it ain't gonna hurt its chances of success one little bit.
Obviously there's been a warehouse party. Obviously there's some smoke rising from the basement. Obviously people are still sleeping as the daylight slowly begins to creep in through the gaps in the walls. Obviously Jason needs to name-check himself as he wakes. And obviously he's still in the mood for dancing as the familiar riff from Robin S's 'Show Me Love' kicks in.
Sure as eggs though, the smoke detectors are doing their job, triggering the sprinkler system. And that's when everyone gets a bit moist.

Some fans of American Idol may remember young Kimberley Locke from the second season of the evergreen TV series. She eventually placed third in the 2003 competition behind Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard and went on to sign a record deal with Curb Records.
A top 20 hit followed with '8th World Wonder' and over the course of the past seven years, she's gone on to release three albums and has enjoyed success on the US adult contemporary and dance charts with tracks including a cover of 'Band Of Gold' - the Freda Payne track she performed during the show (check the very kitsch Almighty remix on iTunes).
Now with her sights firmly set on the dancefloor, Kimberley is giving fans around the world the chance to vote for what should be her next single, giving punters three choices via her Facebook page. The most popular will be chosen as the next Kimberley Locke single which, we're assured by her publicist, will be given a global release, so her fans in Australia will also be given the chance to buy it.
You can make your vote count HERE.

VINES ROCK THE CHAPEL

Following on from their Channel [V] Guerilla Gig at Sydney's Central Station last Thursday and with the release of their new album 'Future Primitive' imminent, Aussie rock outfit The Vines took to the stage at the stunning St.Stephen's Anglican Church in Newtown (pictured left) last night for the first Live At The Chapel event for 2011.
The VIP crowd were treated to plenty of past fan favourites, along with tracks from the new LP.
However, for those of us who weren't lucky enough to be part of the audience, there's a little light on the horizon, with the concert to be screened on free to air TV mid-way through next month.
If you can't wait that long, head to the OFFICIAL LIVE AT THE CHAPEL FACEBOOK PAGE for exclusive footage and images.
The Vines : Live At The Chapel will screen on the Go! Channel on Sunday June 12 from 1pm.

The single 'We Love' is the first to be lifted from the band's new album entitled 'From Here To Anywhere', the first live taste of which punters will get at the 'We Love Sneaky' tour, which kicks off at Adelaide's Rocket Bar on June 29.

FREE CONVAIRE

It was back in August last year the last time we caught up with Sydney outfit Convaire. The four piece indie-pop outfit had just released their acclaimed single 'Gate Track' and were slowly winning over community radio audiences around the country.
The Convaire story has continued to build across the past nine months. Triple J has jumped on board the bandwagon, granting the band stage time at Parklife as part of their Unearthed program.
They're set to release a brand new EP in July this year entitled 'The New You'. And to celebrate its impending release, they've decided to give the new single (and title track) away to you as a free download! What a very generous mob.
No signing up for anything, no selling your youngest into slavery - just a simple right click and the MP3 will be winging its way to your computer.
Nab it HERE.

TAYLOR SWIFT : The Story Of Us

It's all happening for local fans of country starlet Taylor Swift this week. Firstly the new single 'The Story Of Us' was serviced to radio, then MTV got the exclusive premiere of the video yesterday morning and now the clip has surfaced on her official YouTube page for us all to see.
'The Story Of Us' is the fourth single to be lifted from Taylor's latest album 'Speak Now', which has clocked up an impressive double platinum status here in Australia.
The track, written entirely by Taylor herself, ups the tempo - a fusion of country, rock and pop that's just ripe for radio play.
It (and the video) tells the tales of teenage crushes and could have beens. The clip is mostly set within a library, which is quite spooky 'cause the song's about... like... a story! So it all gels together rather nicely.

BEYONCE + 1

To be completely and totally honest, we didn't think too much of 'Run The World (Girls)' when we first heard it. Its bursts of percussion without much of a melody obviously got lost on us - as it appeared to with the rest of the record buying public. At this stage, the single has yet to make it into the top ten on the ARIA singles chart and this week slumped to a worrying No.42 after just four weeks in.
But B's live performances of the track over the past week - at the Billboard Awards and again at the first of Oprah's finale shows - have greatly impressed. Nay, they have been breathtakingly spectacular. It's in these live performances that 'Run The World (Girls)' seems to have taken on a life of its own.
It can't be just us thinking this either - because as of 3pm today, the track has leapt into the top ten on the iTunes singles chart and may very well find a home there over the next few days, increasing the likelihood of a significant chart jump come this weekend.
But with the first single stalling, camp Beyonce has decided to release another track in the lead-up to the release of her new album '4'. Entitled '1+1' (cover image pictured), the track, a ballad, has been released to Australian iTunes today.
Also available is a full tracklisting (and pre-order) of the album, which shows '1+1' as the lead track, while 'Run The World (Girls)' is tucked all the way back in the last spot.
'4' is released in Australia on Friday June 24.

AMERICA'S NEW IDOL

America has a new Idol! The tenth season of American Idol has been won earlier today (Australian time) by 17 year old North Carolina singer Scotty McCreery, who pipped 16 year old Georgia native Lauren Alaina at the final post.
Throughout the competition, the judges were consistently taken aback by Scott's incredibly deep voice that truly belied his youth.
He becomes the youngest male to win American Idol and as the winner of this year's competition, his debut single, entitled 'I Love You This Big' has now been officially released.
The country-tinged track (cover art pictured) has yet to debut on the US iTunes chart, though given American Idol's fanatic following, it's expected to debut strongly on next week's Billboard Hot 100.
The track's yet to make it to the Australian iTunes store.

ENRIQUE ADDS BRISBANE

Ever since Enrique Iglesias announced he was to visit Australia's shores in late July for some live shows in Sydney and Melbourne, the good people of Brisbane have been screaming out "hey, what about us!?".
Thankfully, Dainty Consolidated has today answered their prayers, confirming that the latin heartthrob will perform in the Queensland capital as part of his Australian visit.
Enrique and special guest Pitbull will perform a show at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Monday July 25, playing all the hits that have made them both famous across the globe.
In the meantime, the concert at Sydney's Acer Arena is approaching sell-out, while the Melbourne concert has already sold through. Organisers are still working on another date for the Victorian capital.
Tickets for the Brisbane show, meanwhile, are on sale to the general public on Monday June 06.

ANOTHER KILLER DELAY

Does this sound like a bad case of deja vu or what? Nicole Scherzinger's album 'Killer Love' has been delayed again, disappearing from this week's Universal Music release schedule.
According to our contact, 'Killer Love' will now be released in August to co-incide with its instore date in the United States. Of course, that means that it'll be a slightly different version to that released in Britain earlier this year.
The new US version will feature extra tracks and another single will be serviced to radio in Australia in the meantime.
'Killer Love' is now slated for Australian release on Friday August 12.
All the latest release information is coming up at 9am AET today with our weekly New Release Schedule.

RUNNING FROM THE COLD

The original edition of 'Running Trax', released by Ministry Of Sound in the middle of last year, was a (pardon the pun) runaway success. No surprise then that they followed it up with another edition over summer and are now announcing a Winter 2011 edition of the three disc release.
Once again the Ministry team has plopped together a swag of latest dance/pop tunes that they hope will keep you moving through the cooler months and keep the dreaded winter waste expansion at bay for another year.
Wynter Gordon's there, along with the kicking new Alex Gaudino/Kelly Rowland track, Martin Solveig, The Potbelleez, Ian Carey, Eric Prydz and many more. There are also some old favourites like Shapeshifters' 'Lola's Theme', Underworld's 'Underneath The Radar' and Armand Van Helden's 'My My My'.
Full tracklisting in the comments section below.
'Running Trax : Winter 2011' will be released on Friday June 24.

SILVERCHAIR SPLIT

After a career spanning almost 20 years, Aussie trio Silverchair have this afternoon confirmed via their OFFICIAL FACEBOOK PAGE that they are going into "indefinite hibernation".
"After much soul searching we wanted to let you know that we're putting Silverchair into "indefinite hibernation" and we've decided to each do our own thing for the foreseeable future. We assure you that this decision has not been taken lightly. In fact we've been struggling with it for quite a while now."
They go on to say that while they had started work on a new album in 2009 to follow up their 2007 smash 'Young Modern', "it became clear to us that we were moving in different directions."
They continue, "Despite our best efforts over the last year or so, it's become increasingly clear that the spark simply isn't there between the three of us at the moment. As a result we've decided to put the band into 'a deep sleep' while we all do other things that we find more inspiring right now. This means that Silverchair won't be making music together or playing shows any time soon. It also means that the three of us won't be working together unless and until it feels right again."

WYNTER BREAKS COVER

Warner Music has broken cover on the debut album for US dance/pop songstress Wynter Gordon. And hold the presses! Even though Warner's release schedule earlier this week stated that the album was called 'Still Getting Younger', it's now officially entitled 'With The Music I Die', and it features collaborations with some of the best in the business, including Axwell and Robbie Rivera, along with Australia's own Denzal Park and Nick Littlemore.
The LP will be released here mid-way through next month and in news just through, Wynter will head to Australia to promote it.
After wowing live audiences at both the Stereosonic and Creamfields Festivals, Warner has confirmed today that the singer will attempt to win over Aussie television audiences, with a live performance of 'Til Death' locked in on Channel 7's 'Dancing With The Stars'.
Featuring the hit single 'Til Death' and the No.1 smash 'Dirty Talk', 'With The Music I Die' also contains what (according to the cover image) looks to be the third single 'Buy My Love'.
'With The Music I Die' will be released in Australia on Friday June 17. Tracklist below.

02. Dirty Talk
03. Don't Stop Me

NAT GAUCI'S NEW TUNE, TOUR

Natalie Gauci returns to the spotlight with her brand new single 'Best Of Me'.
The singer and former Australian Idol winner originally released the track as part of her 'I'm Ready' EP last year. But now 'Best Of Me' is set to take on a life of its own after its inclusion in the new Australian comedy 'Big Mamma's Boy', which is set for cinematic release in late July.
"Best Of Me is a song that is very close to my heart, I wrote it about opening all of my heart to someone I really liked, wanting to share it all and was pretty much was rejected," she said in a statement. "I’m very excited to be a part of this movie release, and I can’t wait to play my new music live."
And playing it live is what she'll do, with Nat today announcing a series of live shows throughout late June and early July.

INTERVIEW : Olivia Newton-John

She's an Australian legend - a performer whose music career has spanned more than 40 years. Star of stage and screen, a chameleon-like songstress, a Eurovision contestant, actress, multiple Grammy winner and an ARIA Hall Of Fame member. Beyond all that, however, Olivia Newton-John is a mother, a survivor and a humanitarian.
Since a brush with breast cancer almost 20 years ago, it's been her quest to create and construct the Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre at Melbourne's Austin Hospital. Combining a state of the art research facility, hospital and wellness centre, its completion will most certainly count among Olivia's proudest achievements. After much sacrifice, there's now a light on the horizon... just $10 million more is needed to see the facility come to life.
We chatted with the Aussie music superstar and discovered that after more than eight years of fundraising, planning and development, she's still displaying incredible patience.

"We went through a range of possible hold-ups," she says. "I’ve been fundraising for about eight years this year. It took two and a half years to plan the Great Wall of China walk and I’d been really involved for at least a year before that, so it’s coming up to eight years this year. So by the time the hospital is actually up and running, it’ll probably be a ten year project.

"I had a vision that it would happen, but I didn’t know how long it would take. That said, when something is as important as this, you just have to hold the vision. Now we just have to raise ten million dollars. I think that will be much easier, because now people can actually see a building. Eight stories of the nine stories are built and it looks incredible."

We ask her what she perceives have been the biggest hurdles in relation to the appeal for funds and whether or not the general public is suffering slightly from fundraising fatigue.

"There are very many worthy causes," she admits. "At the Austin, the cancer centre was in terrible shape, so it was really important to have something new. When you go to have the treatment, it helps if you’re in a nice facility, that it’s attractive and it has light. You feel nurtured and it really helps in the healing.

"Hopefully people won’t need it, but it’s possible that they might or someone close to them might need it and it’ll be a beautiful place to go.

"Convincing people of the importance of having a wellness centre at a hospital has been difficult, because people have never really put those two things together before. But as time’s gone on and I’ve talked more about it, people have started to realise that it’s fast becoming the mainstream.

"They do the chemotherapy and the radiation surgery that’s considered the norm in Western medicine, but then to support patients with wellness therapies is a positive step in the right direction. I’m hoping that one day it will all be a wellness centre because they’ll have found the cure," she says.

For now, however, the fundraising effort continues. The latest step towards raising the money needed to complete the centre comes in the form of a remix of her 1980 smash 'Magic', the lead single from the cult classic film 'Xanadu'. We ask Olivia how the new version came to be.

"It was the idea of the gentlemen that produced it - DJ Dan Murphy and producer Steve Peach," she enthuses. "They contacted us about doing a remix of it for the hospital – it’s been a year in the works now. I provided new vocals for it and they did the remix. Everyone’s donated their time on the project and all the proceeds are going to the Cancer & Wellness Centre.

"I don’t know what the potential to raise funds through this is exactly, but I’m open to it. We need to raise ten million dollars. Look, if two million people each gave us five bucks, we’d be done, right?"

We mention the growing fascination with the movie 'Xanadu' over recent years and its now almost cult-like following.

"‘Xanadu’ had great music in it," she says. "The film wasn’t a success at the time, but the music has always been successful and the stage production on Broadway did really well too. As for 'Magic' though, it’s a great song, really, isn’t it?"

Since its release on Sunday, the 'Peachy & Murphy' mix has rarely been out of the iTunes top 50 and Olivia hints it might not be the only back catalogue tune to be getting the dance remix treatment.

"Well it’s kind of a new thing for me," Olivia admits. "It’s a whole new world where there are eight different versions of something. It’s very different to the world I grew up in in music where the mix for the record and the mix for the radio were the same. But it’s interesting. It’s very interesting.

"I’m actually going to do an album of some remixes and new songs with my nephew Brett Goldsmith who’s an incredible musician. But there will be some new versions of songs from the past, so yes, it’s kind of inspired me to do a bit more in this area.

"In America I’ve recently re-released ‘Grace And Gratitude’ and called it ‘Grace And Gratitude Renewed’ with a new song on it called ‘Help Me To Heal’. So there’s a new energy around that album and it’s been doing really well as a re-package. But I haven’t worked on a new piece of music for a little while."

That's not to say Olivia has been idle - anything but. She recently finished filming a movie entitled 'A Few Best Men'.

"It’s a movie I did with Stephan Elliot," she says. "It’s a funny wedding movie, written by the same gentleman who wrote ‘Death At A Funeral’ and it stars Xavier Samuel in the lead role. Tim Draxl and Rebel Wilson are in it too and two wonderful actors from England – Kris Marshall and Kevin Bishop – who are hysterical."

Concluding our conversation, Olivia suddenly has a realisation - we've neglected to mention her brand new cookbook.

"Please mention the book, which I don’t think we’ve touched on," she implores us. "It's called ‘Liv Wise’. It’s available at all good bookstores and the money goes straight to the hospital."

Consider it done.

From an outsiders perspective, it would appear that Olivia and her team of dedicated supporters are now in the home stretch when it comes to raising funds. A commitment in April from Victorian Premier Ted Baillieu and his government to chip in almost $45 million to the project has seen the dream of completing the Cancer & Wellness Centre come one giant step closer.
Now all it will take is for the general public to believe in a little 'Magic' and nothing can stand in their way.

The new remix of 'Magic' is available digitally now (HERE).
Olivia's cookbook 'Liv Wise' is out now (HERE).
